Safe Harbor is looking for volunteers who are willing to go above and beyond serving the women in our ministry. Unfortunately, life happens and sometimes regularly scheduled volunteers are unable to make it in for their scheduled time slots and this leaves the ladies we serve in a bit of a "pinch" as most of the ladies' plans are already put in place days in advance. The right volunteers for these "fill in" opportunities would be willing to be flexible and serve on more of an on call basis rather than a set schedule.
Key Responsibilities of the Residential Office Volunteer:
- Answering phones and taking messages; making sure that important information or messages are forwarded to the correct staff member in timely manner
- Answering the front door, including: taking visitors to the person with whom they are meeting after calling to inform the staff member that their guest has arrived, giving directions to other programming areas such as the administrative office and the donation intake center
- Clerical tasks as needed. This may include editing a document, organizing literature, making copies, utilizing the shared volunteer email's contacts, shared calendars, and editing/updating the Whole Woman Program Intake spreadsheet
- Being able to accurately explain our different program areas and what needs to do in order to apply for these programs
- Approved Drivers will: Need to check in daily on the errand sheet upon arrival. Volunteers will use Safe Harbor vehicles in order to take Whole Woman residents to and from appointments, work as scheduled, to pick up prescriptions, grocery shopping, and other errands as they arise. Drivers will be approved through a MVR report and added to Safe Harbor's auto insurance as an approved driver.
