As a Community Center volunteer, you will be a direct influence and representation of Safe Harbor to all whom you assist, greet, and interact with. Community Center volunteers are expected to help staff and guests with various daily tasks and are aware of developing needs or situations. A volunteer is always mindful of what our guests face and the world in which they live. The volunteer's purpose should be fueled by love for all, compassion, and a giving heart accompanied by a discerning and motivated spirit.
Key responsibilities of a Community Center volunteer are as follows:
- Check in upon arrival with staff Volunteer Liaison for tasks and needs of the day
- Assisting guests with shower needs, laundry, computer navigation
- Approved Driver: drop off and pick up guests
- Guest supervision as needed
- Help with lunch duties
- Assist with childcare as needed
Time Requirement: Shifts: AM or PM half day shifts, 9am-12/12-3pm or all day 9-3pm, Monday-Friday. Three to six hour shifts available, depending upon volunteer's availability and Community Center needs.
